Attention Kansans! You can help:

State employees' paychecks might not arrive on time this Friday due to a bipartisan battle in Topeka.

Governor Sebelius is wanting to transfer $225 million from other accounts so the state employees can be paid on time, but this requires approval from the Reps - which they rejected.

Help by contacting your legislator to urge the importance of getting paychecks on time:

If you do not know who your legislator is:
1) Go to http://www.kslegislature.org/legsrv-legisportal/index.do

2) Under "hot items", click on "find your legislator" (http://www.kslegislature.org/legsrv-legisportal/redistricting.do)

Contact both House and Senate. Most employees live from check to check... how are the state employees going to pay their bills on time if their paychecks are delayed? If they do not get paid.. Kansas economy is going to topple over.

Excerpt:
"GOP leaders are hoping to pressure Sebelius into signing a bill making $326 million in adjustments to the budget for the fiscal year that ends June 30. They said the bill needs to be adopted before the state can guarantee any new debts are repaid. Legislators approved that bill last week, and it is expected to reach the governor’s desk by Tuesday."
